Morning Pages – An idea popularized by Julia Cameron in The Artist’s Way, Morning Pages are daily stream of consciousness writing, usually done in the morning. Usually it takes me about 10 minutes to do 3 pages worth which is what Ms. Cameron recommends. I used to write them longhand, but now I use 750words.com, which is just an online, private journal designed to compliment the idea of morning pages. Do this right before you sit down to write, and you will improve your focus and concentration. It just gets you into the groove and your writing will take flight.
Switch it Up – Do you always write on the computer? Take a break and give writing long hand a shot. Sometimes switching up the way you write will free up some new ideas. If you write on lined paper, use a blank sheet. (Colored pens and pencils are also a lot of fun when you are plotting.) You never know what will kick loose a great idea!
Take Your Inner Writer on a Date – Nothing inspires your inner writer like a few new toys, so take yourself to the bookstore or office supply store and pick out a little something. A new pen or some cool paper will make it fun to plan out your next story. Even some bright folders to organize your notes or a bulletin board to post your note cards on.

Hi,
I was wondering how are we supposed to use the 75o word site? Are we supposed to be writing the fan fiction or Ideas for what we want to write?
Fan Fiction says
750words.com is for free writing. So you just type whatever comes to mind…it might be how much your dislike doing laundry one day or all of the problems you are having with your new WIP the next.
There really are no rules, so you can just sit down and start typing whatever comes to mind. I usually will use it when I have trouble with a story but most of the time I spend very little time writing about the story and more time on the other things that are bothering me. Then once I’ve written all that down, I can really focus on my story.
750words is also really good for establishing a writing habit without the pressure of having to think up something to write. You just go there every day and write what comes to mind. Nobody sees it but you so you can write whatever you want.
I hope that helps. If you have any additional questions, please let me know.
